I can imagine telling my wife to `back up sweetheart` on a dance floor, then again, I can imagine my jaw getting broken. For me, the best part of this song is when the redhead finally sheds her shyness and just cuts loose. Who is still watching it in 2019. Who is still watching in 2020? this is a MASTERPIECE. When I was little this song bored me but now I appreciate it so much it"s amazing. Always thought this was a great song, right back when we (my mum, dad, bro & sis) all went to see the film at the cinema & for this I must of only been 6years old (if this was 1978? Going to the cinema was a big night out for a family then, especially going to see such great films as this. Still gives me that feeling that I got back then even at that age that feeling that I doubt I will ever understand. ‘Its got groove, its got meaning ??????.

Grease is a classic and a movie that never gets old! I think most people have seen it but just incase well it stars Olivia Newton John as Sandy Olsen who has come to Rydell High in California from Australia. She spent the summer with Danny Zuko played by John Travolta. The movie shows Danny trying to win back Sandy and the experience along the way with lots of colourful characters. It"s a musical so there"s lots of singing but the songs are fantastic. I think the dance scenes were choreographed really well and the actors perform so well. Especially John Travolta in the Greased Lightning routine. Great film and great soundtrack too.

John Travolta and Olivia-Newton-John lead a terrific ensemble cast. Some critics called the sets "cheap" and the story "childish" but the movie-going public knew better. Severely cleaned up from the Broadway Musical Version, it boasts several songs custom-written for ONJ by her favorite tunesmith, John Farrar. Great personalities from the old 1950"s include Eve Arden, Sid Caesar, Edd Byrnes, and Joan Blondel. Yeah, the Greasers and their gals were not as clean-cut in real life as they are portrayed in this film. I remember "rumbles" with knives, but in those days, nobody ever brought guns to school. A stinging parody of "American Grandstand and Dick Clark" tops off the program with "Sha-Na-Na" singing their hearts out on glorious black and white TV. The "carnival" ending is really well-done. Yes, OLJ was sewed "into her pants" when she "comes out as a Greaser" in the song "You"ll the One That I Want. Pure joy after 40 years! Unsurpassed.

What I love about this scene is how Link pulls Ina out to dance with her, then he just quietly slinks off once she"s really got into it, and lets her show everyone what she can do. When queen latifah enters the stage ??????. Beautiful, talented woman with a great set of pipes. They really need to stop making remakes of classic movies so quickly after the original because how do you improve on such awesomeness.

When I was a kid and watched this movie, I always loved Rizzo waaaay more than any other - and this was always my favorite song. My parents asked me why - I couldn"t explain. I just do. It"s Rizzo! Now I realize how much passion and vulnerability there is in this song. Quarantine got me going back to my fav movies lol. 2:27 did the best freakin dance and you CANNOT change my mind. In my youth, three beautiful women impacted my life and I fell in love with them, Olivia Newton, Agnetha Faltskog from ABBA and Debbie Harry, from Blondie. In the movie Grease, the last scene with Olivia Newton dressed in black, only this scene, is worth half of the movie. beautiful.

I would kill to see John Travolta on Drag Race! Where is RuPaul when you need him. Am I the only one who get"s an Outsiders vibe from this song? I wanna be a greaser so badly. I like only two musicals this is one of them, the other is the Sound of Music.
